The house is built on a rock foundation and has been constructed using reinforced concrete. The roofs are built from pressure treated lumber (3″ x 6″ joists) cast into the final ring beam with hold down rebar stirrups. The floor tiles are 18″ travertine and are used throughout the property both inside and also on the patios and walkways between the three cottages. The stones used for the retaining wall behind and in front of the house were cut by hand and the long drive from the gate and the parking area are paved with bricks.

There is a spacious three car garage which has been constructed with a view to building a guest cottage on top. Plumbing and electrical preparation has been installed to facilitate this development.

The bathrooms have been built with solid concrete roofs in order to be used as storm shelters. There is a large freshwater storage as well as two large septic tanks.
