Hummingbird House sleeps ten guests in five sea-facing double or twin rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Living, dining and outdoor is upstairs with bedrooms split between the two floors. 

Whoever first built a property on the site of the current Hummingbird House certainly chose one of the finest locations in Antigua. At around 100ft above sea level, the house catches the gentle and cooling trade winds breeze and enjoys magnificent views over Pigeon Beach and Falmouth Bay, out towards Montserrat and the Caribbean sea beyond.

Set in almost an acre of tropical gardens and bordered to the South by the hills of the National Park, the house is totally private yet only a 5 minute walk from idyllic Pigeon Beach, Falmouth Marina with its shops, bars and restaurants, and from historic Nelson’s Dockyard in English Harbour.

For complete relaxation, the verandahs at Hummingbird provide the ideal spot to watch the coming and going of some of the world’s most luxurious yachts or simply the endless visits of tropical birds to the lush gardens.

BEDROOM ONE (first floor): Large room with vaulted ceiling, white painted wooden floor, four large windows giving magnificent views of Falmouth Bay and the National Park hills with super king-size four poster bed. There is a ceiling fan and remote controlled air conditioning, plus a large built in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with travertine floor and walls, double basin and walk-in shower.

BEDROOM TWO (first floor): Large room with vaulted ceiling, travertine floor, two windows and French doors with views of Falmouth Bay opening onto the garden, gazebo and pool deck. There is a king size four poster bed, ceiling fan and remote controlled air conditioning. The room has a large built in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with travertine floor and walls and walk-in shower.

BEDROOM THREE (ground floor): Large room with cool ‘opale’ tiled floor, two windows and French doors opening onto the gardens, with sea views beyond. There are twin beds, ceiling fan and remote controlled air conditioning. There is a large built in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with tiled floor and walls and walk-in shower.

BEDROOM FOUR (ground floor): Large room with cool ‘opale’ tiled floor, ceiling fan and remote controlled air conditioning, entrance vestibule with built in wardrobe and double French doors opening onto the tiled loggia/balcony, lawns and gardens and with sea views. Beds are ‘zip and link’ to make a king-size double or two twins and from the bed there are wonderful views of Falmouth Bay. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower with tiled floor and walls.

BEDROOM FIVE (ground floor): Large room with cool ‘opale’ tiled floor, built in wardrobe and double French doors with sea views and opening onto the tiled loggia/balcony, lawns and gardens with stairs leading up to the verandah above. There is a ceiling fan and remote controlled air conditioning. Beds are ‘zip and link’ to make a king-size double or two twins. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower with tiled floors and walls.

The Antiguan housekeeper Dorothy will be pleased to look after the house for up to 5 days a week during your stay.  The property managers are situated within half a mile to help with any requests or issues that may arise. A chef can be arranged and boat trips, island tours, diving, horse riding, golf and historic walks are all available. The house has a full Cable TV and sound system with indoor and outdoor speakers and there is wireless internet connection.

For security, there is an automatic electric gate, and an alarm system around the outside of the property. All rooms have 110 volt electrical outlets with 220 volts in the kitchen area (transformers are available). There is a generator housed in the garden which starts automatically should there be a power cut.

All rooms have ceiling fans, and all bedrooms have air conditioning. The pool is serviced weekly.
